Recreational Program for Boys
For boys ages 6.5-12 years of age.
All classes are 90 minutes
Beginner
The student will work on beginner gymnastics skills and body positions utilizing the floor, parallel bars, high bar, pommel horse, rings and vault. Trampoline and Tumble Trak exercises are also incorporated in order to improve body awareness. Handstands, forward and backward rolls, pull- overs, and basic swings are taught in this class. Basic skills on all apparatus should be mastered at this level.
Students are required to have instructor approval to enroll in any of the following classes.
Intermediate
After mastering the basic sequential skills and developing strength and flexibility, the gymnast should be ready for intermediate exercises. This level incorporates an increase in strength and flexibility drills with intermediate skills on all apparatus. Front handsprings, back handsprings and round-offs are some of the skills taught in this class.
Advanced
After mastering the basic and intermediate sequential skills and developing strength and flexibility, the gymnasts should be ready for more advanced exercises. This level incorporates repetitive drills in order to increase body awareness and program muscle memory. Combination tumbling passes and apparatus routines are emphasized in this class. Students are encouraged to train twice per week at this level.
